GISD student dress and grooming policy

GENERAL PROVISIONS
- Articles of clothing depicting inappropriate language, racial connotations and/or reference to alcohol, drugs, tobacco, vaping, gangs, sex, or violence is not acceptable. Apparel deemed to possibly be discriminatory, disruptive, or gang related will not be allowed. Any attire, hairstyle, or grooming that administration reasonably believes could lead to a disruption of normal school operations will not be permitted
- If campus administration determines that a student's grooming or clothing violates the school's dress code, the student will be given the opportunity to correct the problem at school and return to the classroom. If the problem cannot be corrected at school, the principal will work with the student and parent to obtain an acceptable change of clothing for the student in a way that minimizes loss of instructional time.
See the attached image for specifics on the school’s policy.
