Goliad One Act play wins first at UIL competition

The Goliad high School production of “The Sweet Science of Bruising” won first place at the UIL competition Tuesday at Goliad High School.

“Goliad theatre students had their personal best performance yesterday for the play, “The Sweet Science of Bruising,” said Dr. Kathryn Thomas, director. “They will advance to bi-district on March 16.

“A big thank you to David Luna the Host Site Director. He did a fantastic job yesterday.” She additionally offered her appreciation to the community for the use of furniture and props for the contest.

Individual award recipients are:

Best Performer — Kate Billo

All Star Cast — Ansley von Dohlen and Destiny Aguayo

Honorable Mention Cast — Martinez Gutierrez and Donovan Tyler

All Star Tech Award — Remi De La Rosa
