Please drop off and/or pick up your child on Tiger Drive (the street leading to the high school.)  I realize this makes a longer walk for our 7^th graders who are in the gym first period; however, the street coming in front of the gym and beside the school is a bus lane.  For safety reasons, it is imperative we do not have private vehicles using this route and passing through the area where buses are loading/unloading students.  We also ask parents to not drop off or pick up students from the teacher parking lot as this necessitates the student crossing the street used by the buses.  Thank you for helping keep our students safe!

The dress code has changed since last school year.  Students are no longer required to tuck in shirts or wear belts.  Shirts may be no longer than the fingertips when a student’s arms are straight at his/her side.  Shirts must be long enough that skin does not show when a student’s arms are raised above his/her head.  Holes, rips, or tears in clothing that allow skin or undergarments to show are not appropriate.

I encourage parents to use the parent portal on the GISD website to monitor their child’s grades, attendance, tardies, etc.  Each teacher has a faculty page with information as to what is going on in their classroom on a particular day or details regarding assignments.  It is also helpful to both parents and us if they will establish e-mail communication with teachers and administrators.
