fball GOOD CHARACTER

Students will be learning about the character aspects and how to apply them to everyday life.  These traits come from the Capturing Kids' Hearts curriculum.  Topics are discussed daily over morning announcements and in classes as well.

The elementary students participate in "Caught with Good Character."  Students can earn a fish and bring it to the fish bowl in the office for a chance to have their name drawn and get a sticker.  This is a super way to acknowledge all of the good behaviors our students have.  Come check out our huge fish tank (wall) with all of the catch we have made so far!!

The intermediate students have a similar program~~  PAWS-atively good Character.  The same principles apply but the students earn a paw or tiger and are rewarded with a pencil.  The "wall of paws" is located in the hallway at the main entrance of the intermediate school.  Keep up the good behaviors!!

STRANGER DANGER!

With the beginning of school, parents should re-visit the stranger danger talk.  Before school released for the summer,  students viewed a video published by Safe Side.  With this video lesson, students learned tips to help them stay safe around people they don't know and people they "kinda" know.

Here are some of the tips the students learned:

* Keep your Safe Side Adult close
* Never open the door without your Safe Side Adult
* Stop & Think!  Don't fall for tricks.
* Never talk to Don't Knows unless your Safe Side Adult is with you.
* Don't let anyone inside your Safe Side Circle.  Run from Danger!
* Know your three Safe Side Adults.
* Never go anywhere with anyone, unless you ask your Safe Side Adult first.
